Redesign of the portal for company partners - NDA

Project type

The purpose of this case study is to outline the process of redesigning the portal for company partners. The goal of this project was to create a user-friendly and efficient portal that enhances the experience of company partners, making it easier for them to access important resources, collaborate with the company, and achieve their business objectives.

1. Research Phase:
1.1. Understanding Stakeholder Goals: Conducted interviews and workshops with key stakeholders from the client side to comprehend their expectations, pain points, and desired outcomes for the partner portal. Gained insights into the business objectives and requirements from the partner's perspective.

1.2. Analyzing User Needs: Conducted user surveys, interviews, and data analysis to understand the existing partner portal's shortcomings and identify areas for improvement. Gathered feedback from current partners to comprehend their pain points and preferences.

1.3. Competitor Analysis: Researched competitor partner portals and industry best practices to benchmark against existing solutions. Analyzed successful features and evaluated potential opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

1. Ideation Phase:
2.1. Defining User Personas: Created detailed user personas representing the various types of company partners, considering their roles, goals, and pain points. This helped to humanize the design process and ensure the portal caters to the needs of different user groups.

2.2. Information Architecture: Developed a clear and intuitive information architecture for the new portal, ensuring that information is organized logically and can be accessed easily. Mapped out the navigation flow and user journeys for various tasks.

2.3. Feature Prioritization: Based on user needs and stakeholder goals, identified and prioritized features to be included in the redesign. Collaborated with stakeholders to reach a consensus on the core functionalities and scope of the project.

3. Design Phase:
3.1. Wireframing and Prototyping: Created low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the portal's layout, structure, and interactions. Iterated on the wireframes based on feedback from stakeholders and usability testing. Developed high-fidelity prototypes to simulate the user experience.

3.2. UI Design: Developed a consistent and visually appealing user interface that aligns with company's brand guidelines while ensuring readability and accessibility. Utilized a user-centric design approach to enhance usability.

4. Testing Phase:
4.1. Usability Testing: Conducted usability testing sessions with representative users to evaluate the redesigned portal's ease of use, navigation, and overall user experience. Identified pain points and areas for improvement.

4.2. Feedback Incorporation: Gathered feedback from usability testing and iteratively made improvements to the portal's design and functionality.

5. Development Phase:
5.1. Collaboration with Development Team: Collaborated closely with the development team to ensure the design's feasibility and implementation. Provided detailed design specifications and assets to maintain design consistency during development.

5.2. Launch and Post-Launch Phase:
Beta Release and Feedback Collection: Launched a beta version of the redesigned partner portal to a limited set of partners. Collected feedback and monitored user interactions to address any last-minute issues or bugs.

The redesign of the portal for company partners successfully improved the user experience and met the stakeholder's goals. By prioritizing user needs, conducting thorough research, and incorporating iterative design processes, the new partner portal is now an efficient and user-friendly platform that strengthens the collaboration between the company and its partners. The project's success can be measured through increased partner engagement, reduced support queries, and improved business outcomes for both company and its partners.
